Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
    Nuts for protein
Graze boxes - though tiny portions but all sealed up in separate boxes and great variety
Alpro chocolate (or other flavours) desserts - tastes 'fresh' but these aren't refrigerated in shops
Those long life type of separately sealed brioche on the bread aisle

I'd struggle though for 10 days even with all the suggestions on the thread!

I was in sainsbugs earlier and had a look for you

small tins tuna with mayo (plus coronation tuna and curried tuna!) £1.89 for 3 tins (ww version £2.49)

I think the pouches of olives were 89p for sainsbugs own and 99p for Cresp0 ones. They were right by the jarred olives and pickles etc.

I agree with the person who said pay for an extra case as the cost probably will pale into insignificance compared to 100 a day! OR you can get small suitcases which count as hand luggage - you could get a lot of food in one of those :D
  • Honestly, I would look to change the destination to somewhere you can actually afford to eat and enjoy the holday. Scraping by on dry/longlife food sounds dire.

    I agree.
I'm really rather surprised that the OP's children, knowing that she suffers from a condition that is affected by food, haven't investigated what the food options are - even though it's a wonderful gesture.
Taking a suitcase full of Pot Noodles or whatever sounds ridiculous.
I suggest contacting the holiday company involved to come up with an alternative.I'm sure they'll be co-operative.
Two grand on food ? They must be importing it from the other side of the world and frankly it is, of course, cobblers.
If it's being imported then it's frozen - do you really want to pay that much for frozen food ?
Especially in Africa - where they grow stuff and catch it in the sea and raise cattle.
You couldn't make this stuff up if you tried.
  • You could certainly carry on some things (i.e. nuts, wraps etc.) but don't try to carry on anything that would get confiscated as a liquid, gel, paste or sharp object. If it were me, I'd carry on my clothes and check the food!

Doh! Yes, that is a better plan :)

You are absolutely wonderful to have looked in the supermarket for me..

Yes it is a good plan..

Do you think if I checked in another suitcase, I could pack in a barbecue or a microwave oven? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I agree, maybe stick with the flights to the Seychelles but find an alternative hotel with cheaper food or shops nearby? If it was booked separately (a big if, I know), the hotel rate might even be refundable.

I know it's different for everyone, but food is an enormous part of a holiday for me. I'd feel miserable eating crappy long-life food for two weeks, especially in such a luxurious destination as the Seychelles!

Besides, if you fill your luggage with food, what on earth are you going to wear?! And can you really carry enough to keep you full up and happy for the entire holiday?
  • Also in agreement about trying to change the resort - the thought of living on Mugshots and breakfast bars for ten days is pretty miserable.

I can recommend the pouches with french dressing love this, take some melba toast and spread on, very nice lunch, jam don't take a jar in B & M they have a tray of individual jams like you get in cafes they will weigh less, if you have no B & M let me know i will get some and send them to you, get your family to start collecting sauce sachets when they go out, there is the jars of fruit teas that are powdered (just checked tesco do mango and lemon pouches of lipton tea £1.40 you could have this hot or cold i prefer it cold) also the above ideas are great

    Thought of more
Hot dogs, only need a quick warm up with the boiling water, cup a soups would help keep you going, you could take some croutons too.
    instant custard
You might get a couple of bananas there safely for bananas and custard.
    Flapjacks

This site has some pretty cool stuff
