Meal Plans W/B 18th Feb

Another week of successful meal planning in our house this week though there were a couple of minor alterations but nothing drastic. Food budget came in 65p under budget for the week so happy with that.

Plan for this week starting Saturday

Saturday - Tuscan Sausages and Rice (using a free maggi cook in the bag mix)
Sunday - Slowcooked beef with roast potatoes and veggies
Monday - Chilli wraps
Tuesday - Ravioli in veg soup (DD will be cooking as I am away overnight in a very nice hotel for work, oh the hardship of it)
Wednesday - Fishfingers, Oven Chips and Beans (DD possibly cooking again, depends what time I get home)
Thursday - BBQ Chicken and Pasta
Fri - Slowcooked Beef Casserole with Yorkshire Puds

Breakfasts will be Fruit, Cereal Bars, Porridge

Lunches will be wraps, sandwiches and left overs. May make some soup

Snacks will be fruit, nuts, dried fruit and am going to make a batch of carrot muffins.

Hope everyone has a good week and look forward to seeing your meal plans

  • Hi there,

I've come over here from the Debt Free Wannabe board and been having a little lurk.

My meal plans for the week mostly come from the freezer as we are going out for dinner tomorrow so want to offset the cost of that.

    Tonight: Spaghetti carbonara
    Sat: Out
Sunday: Quick snacky bits as out for a work family bowling evening
Monday: Kids - soup from freezer, Us - casserole from freezer with roast potatoes
Tuesday: Fish pie from freezer with veg
    Wednesday: Sausages and mash
    Thurs: Chilli from freezer

    Breakfast is toast or cereal
    Lunches are sandwiches, fruit, yogurts
Going to also make some cakes for snacks and maybe some flapjacks.
    Monday:
Total Debt at LBM (Dec 12) 22,255.26

    New year New LBM!
    Current debt: 19,045.03
  • Welcome How did that happen? and thanks Tealady for starting off the thread. Normally my mealplan is written on a Saturday, but I'm at a loose end at the moment and wanted to get it done. Here goes:

Sat - Toad in the Hole with Beans & Stuffing Balls
Sun - Meat Feast Pasta Bake
Mon - Sweet & Sour Chicken with Noodles
Tues - Jacket Potatoes with Melee Beans
    Weds - TBC
    Thurs - Jambalaya
Fri - Lamb Tikka Kebabs with Jewelled Rice

That's it, hope everyone has a lovely week. Whenever the oven goes on a cake will be baked at the same time. Lunches are sandwiches or leftovers, and there's jam, bread, fruit & cake or cookies for the occasional treat.

  • Hi all

I did not post last weeks meal plan, it went well but was swapped around a bit as the week progressed.

I am still experimenting with my Hairy Dieters book and as I am off work this week I am trying out several of their breakfast suggestions to see if they fill me up more than my usual porridge.

Lunches will be a mix of wraps, sandwiches or soups

Sat - Crispy chicken with veg
Sun - Off to visit DD1 who is at uni so will be eating out
Mon - Mediteranian beef burgers with salad
Tue - Salmon with chilli and ginger sauce, rice and veg
    Wed - Bolognaise
    Thur - Butternut squash tortiellini
Fri - Lamb spinach and potato curry
I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order :D.
