  • I have been looking at a ford car to buy and having a same problem in getting the"real" price quote. On the top of that the dealer offers £1000pounds off with taking their loan financing. I did not want a loan but £1000 is a good chunk. They tell me to sign in with the loan and pay it off totally after month with no penalty. They cannot provide me with paperwork to confirm this so am vary. Does anyone know if it would be possible to do so, ihave saved the cash for this purchase. Thanks

But it's not £1000 off if they've loaded it onto the car price, I was looking at a Vauxhall Mokka, the Exclusiv which Vauxhall are pitching as their most popular spec was £2000 more expensive than better equiped Techline, why? Because they were offering interest free credit on the Exclusiv but not the Techline. My advice is try a broker I've been quoted £2000 less paying cash for a new Qashqai than the Nissan price including the £1000 off finance.
I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world
  • I think the broker might be the answer especially as the dealer will not move with the £1000 without loan. Aim still interested to know if the advice for paying up full early is right advice just because I challenged it and am now curious. Thanks

We are buying a new ford car and are taking out the finance and then settling after first monthly payment to save £150 approx. We were told of this by our ford dealer and am pretty certain we did this when we bought another new ford quite a few years ago. We have kept our email from the detailer saying we will save £150 by taking out the finance. I am going to ring ford on monday to check mine out just to make double sure. I will let you know the outcome.

Good Luck with whatever you decided to do, I've been trying to buy a brand new car off Nissan since December - tell them exactly what I want, with a simple question of "what's the best price for a cash purchase?" - then they start with all the finance blurb, etc., and after losing the will to live, and not getting a straight answer, I then leave the dealership. I'm now on my third dealership and running out of dealerships within striking distance of home. Think I need to find another vehicle as opposed to dealership.

Thats odd we have exactly the same problem! Spent two hours in dealership haggling over pounds and pence! Most they could take off was £400! They also offered me £1000 less for my part ex which i have just sold. I going past the huddersfield nissan tomorrow - i am tempted to say i am here to buy today but only at the right price and see what happens

Some of the brokers won't offer the 0% finance i want so that is making it hard. Drive the deal have not even got back to me yet either after 4 days!

God is it this bad? All the banks seem to have moved into car finance to make up for their shortfall from mortgages.
