    Unbelievable !

I try to share an experience on here and instead I get attacked by people picking apart every word I say.

The garage was an independent garage. If it's "status" has now changed then I made a mistake in describing it but as I have tried to explain it's not a regular Halfords garage. Scroll up to read.

You were right to post on here. Thankyou for that. I can save other people a lot of money and time.
Unfortunately once you post you can become a target for others who seem to delight in trawling for victims to windup.
Also people post and do not realise how rude or bad mannered some of their replies are. One of the problems of the written word.
Face to face we can ascertain how we can take a comment, seriously or not. Better to ignore it rather than get into a worthless debate.
    Thanks again for your info.
  • I wouldn't leave the MOT peeps to go through the vehicle by themselves and hatch up plots to add up the repair bill amongst themselves.

As an ex-MOT tester I've never done anything of the sort!!! Don't forget you can appeal the MOT test result. If you believe your car should have passed when it has failed appeal the result.

A lot of MOT failures can be prevented by doing simple checks, ie checking your tyres, doing a lights check, making sure there is water in the washer bottle and your wipers are in good order.

The above can be carried out in about 15 minutes and can save you no end of problems. Most people never bother and just moan when their car fails on something simple like a wiper blade or no water in the washers.

I once had to get the rear suspension bushes replaced on my Fiat Stilo some years ago. The Fiat garage said that they would have to replace the whole axle at a cost of £1000 because Fiat did not supply the bushes separately. I have often wished that I had my camera with me to take picture of the receptioist's face when I said that I had a set of genuine Fiat bushes in the car waiting to be fitted. After that I found an excellent Fiat specialist mechanic and never used the dealer again.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.
