Have you logged in paypal? I thought you could cancel uncliamed money.

    I did last week.

No as the paypal email address belongs to someone.

You can only cancel it if the email address has never been registered with paypal.

Mine just said unclaimed at this end - but then the seller got a neg saying scammer - so i cancelled it quickly.

The next day ebay pulled the listing.

Maybe the address they gave did not exists then. I just assumed i had beat him to it.
  • What i bet has happened is that the seller in question *does* own the paypal account that you paid into but that the account is limited i.e. they cannot withdraw the money so they have come up with the excuse that you paid into the 'wrong' account

No I don't think that has happened otherwise all her listings would have the same problem but it was only half of them.

I paid for the other 2 items separate as they ended in the evening and not in the day time and they had the correct address on them.

I trust the seller as they seem genuine.

Plus paypal said the unclaimed account isn't in pounds sterling hence why it is unclaimed.

Only 29 days to go til I get my money back!!!

  • Not all her listings would have the same problem if she realised her mistake halfway through listing, surely? Human errors are a lot more common than mysterious computer glitches in my experience. Hopefully it wasn't too much money and no one will claim it before it comes back to you.

You can also cancel it if the email address is no longer in existence; someone I know had changed their Paypal email address and it was all great, working just fine when they bought items. They then started to sell, and the listings reverted to their old Paypal address, which they had used last time they sold on eBay. They only realised when payments showed up with the egg timer, so they contacted their buyers, who were able to cancel the payment and resend it to the correct Paypal email.
