Hi
I applied for Wimbledon tickets when the ballot opened last year, the official site states successful applicants will be notified from February this year.
So, has anybody heard anything yet?

Last time I applied I got my letter saying I had one ticket (I applied for two) in may. They draw constantly right up until it starts. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

The public ballot for 2013 closed on 31 December 2012 so unless you have heard then you have not been successful0

That's not true. The deadline to return your ballot form was 31st Dec, but the actual draws for tickets take place from Feb. Letters will be sent out over the next few weeks. I know lots of people (including me)! who've applied but none of us have heard yet! Last year I got a letter around February 20th.0

Congrats- a few tips:
- not necessary to stay in Wimbledon, its easy to get to using public transport, which is well maned and up to date info on the day.
- bring snacks, it can be very expensive inside for food. Some people bring a full on picnic basket inc wine.
- go early, take in the atmosphere, there is lots to see and do around the site- make the most of your entrance fee.
- your ticket will include all matches on that court not just the quarters. More value for your ticket.
- it can be a long day, bring extra layers, it may get chilly at night, even if the sun is shinning to begin with.
Another tip, if you have more friends who would like to go but can not choose the lucky plus 1. The others could queue up for grounds tickets. Once in the ground you could interchange tickets, everyone eats to see a bit of one of the matches/ play.

Thanks for all these tips...very useful to know !0 -
I can't afford to watch the big matches live but am going on a coach trip to watch the old timers play on mens finals day
. Cheap and hopefully cheerful, this will be my 'holiday' for the year (getting away on my own for 48 hours :j). I would LOVE to be able to get into centre court but it's too dear for me (to buy them from the ticket website). How does this ballot thingy work?

The ballot has closed for 2013 however it reopens in aug for 2014- you send an sae to Wimbledon and they return you a form, fill it in and if successful you will be advised around this time of year.
On the day of play, you can queue for grounds tickets, which will get you in and can see any matches on courts except centre or court 1.
Once in the grounds you can queue up for returned tickets for centre court or court 1 ie left overs or people who have left half way through day and returned their tickets.
Or just rang around outside the court you want to see play, people may leave early and hand you their unwanted ticket.0
