Gurgling noise coming from bath plughole after flushing toilet

Hello all,
Can anyone offer some advice on this problem please, just bought our new home in December and moved in and recently noticed that we may have a blockage somewhere, our bathroom has the following set up up from left to right, bath, sink, toilet and then shower and then in a separate room next to the bathroom is a solitary toilet (this one is never a problem), I am no plumber but guessing that all the waste water runs into the same pipe as they are all in a straight line on the same wall.
Sometimes the shower is slow to drain, not really bad and never gets to a point where it could overflow the shower tray but noticeably slow draining
The toilet in bathroom quite often blocks with even a small amount of paper, this is soon sorted with a plunger
Sink is never a problem
I had a bubble bath last night and when I pulled out the plug water and after a few gurgles bubble bath foam and water came out of the overflow!
After flushing the toilet there seems to be a lot of gurgling coming from the bath plughole which goes on for a few minutes, could there be a leak somewhere??
Does this sound like something simple to resolve and any ideas as to where any blockage could be? just wanted some advice before I either pour all sorts of drain unblocking chemicals down the plugholes or if I need to call out a plumber, would rather get this sorted asap than leave it and make problems worse

Could be just a poor flow problem due to poor pipework runs on installation, but best to check the above 1st, then if its a newbuild contact the builder to investigate?
New builds are also notorious for builders debris being left in drainage pipework?Signature removed0 -
Thanks Ted, not a new build but will check out the other thread, cheers0

First port of call would be to have a look into the sewer manhole in your garden or where ever it is, if there is standing water in there then theres a blockage.
Depending where the blockage is and if its a shared sewer is the difference between you having to fork out and the water board doing it for nothing.
On the other hand it could well be that the pipe work might not have enough drop to it to allow the foul water to drain away as it should, it also sounds like a vacuum is being produced which is why the bath is gurgling - too many things sharing the small bore pipework and no air admittance valve.
However no photos so couldnt say one way or another. You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -
Sounds like the air admittance valve for the toilet it stuck (if there is one in your system). Basically water from the toilet flush is pulling air into the drain from the bath plughole hence the noise.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

As above check the manholes for sewers first to see if all free and flowing away. Get someone to flush the if looks ok and see if water flowing freely
If blocked in sewers consider the MSE route of buying your own set of drain rods to clear it yourself and then check every 3 months or so to stop any build up0 -
Hello and thanks very much for your replies, much appreciated.
I will get the manhole cover up and check that first off and see whats going on there. Not sure if the toilet does have an air admittance valve (is there a way I can check this?! as I say am no plumber lol!) if it helps the toilet is a pretty modern looking one but does not have the buttons to flush on the top its a normal handle flush
Luckily I do have the british gas cover for plumbing etc so if there is a blockage apparent when I check the manhole cover i will get them out but buying the rods may be an option too so thanks for that0 -
Our plumber mentioned that it there is not a good enough vent in the outside pipework then water backing up can be an issue. Haven't got around to getting him back in to do it yet for us.0

If the soil stack vents vertically on/to the outside then you probably don't have the valve, it's done as far as I'm aware when there is a problem venting to the outside;)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
