    Hi, just wondering if anyone has tried making their own chocolate spread? my boys love it but the shop ones are full of rubbish so I'd like to make my own;)

    The simplest would be a cocoa butter icing mix - butter, icing sugar, cocoa powder, or cooled melted chocolate.

    Or a nut butter ( peanut/cashew/hazelnut) mix with cocoa. You could make your own or buy a suitable one.

    Or maybe use something like a fruit curd and add chocolate to it?

    Weirdly I was thinking vaguely about this yesterday morning whilst eating chocolate/nut spread on toast.
    Put the kettle on. ;)

    Just this morning I was reading David Lebovitz's blog and he had a recipe for Nutella, I'm dying to make it but I just know I'd scoff the lot in one sitting! Here it is.
