I make the chocolate spread regularly as my son has Lactose Intolerance. We all prefer it to Nutella. It isn't a cheap option as the hazlenuts make it about £3 to make however it is well worth it for the taste and quality.
Have you tried making peanut butter. I buy 2 packs of Value peanuts and whizz in the food processor until it turn to butter. I do the same with raw cashew nuts - very creamy and delicious if you cannot use dairy products.0 -
Its the nuts he s allergic to,Im hoping to try it with ground almonds instead or without as a plain chocolate spread.Do you think this would work.
Thanks so much for replying.

Just wondered really if anyone had ever made homemade choc spread to go on bread and if so how you went about it please? Got a husband who has a separate chocolate tummy and is a keen choccie spread fan!

Hi there,
I'm SURE I've seen people on here asking for a recipe for chocolate spread but I've searched and I can find them.
I've just stumbled across this recipe CLICK HERE and although it looks a bit posh as it is, it could be adapted to make a nutellas style spread.
Please add to the appropriate thread as required.
