We have problems accessing wifi from different places in our house and when the new superhub was delivered, the engineer was late because he had spent two hours trying to get the wifi to work, unsuccessfully, at previous call, where it worked before they changed to superhub box to upgrade their line speed.

Also wanting to activate peer to peer network (see above post) went onto Virgin community forum and it seems that other users do have the same problem, hence recommended to reconfigure superhub into modem mode.

But if you can only get 3mb otherwise, it must be a no brainer for you to go Virgin cable.

Just googled to find out what FTTC is. Checked my postcode and have been told that there are no plans for this in my area.

And just found out a friend works for Virgin so can get me friends and family discount, even better :T

Don't forget when you're with them they often have good deals on mobiles too. Don't always get good handsets but the deals for mins/texts/data are usually pretty good too :)

Ask your neighbours if they've got it. I just signed up, and immediately had problems. The speed is sometimes good, but often quite slow, and more annoyingly the connection breaks sometimes, so you can't watch videos, and interactive pages like Facebook are unbearably slow to use. They've told us there's a known fault, and they "think" they'll get round to fixing it at the end of March...

Don't be like us and just believe that cable is automatically better. When it's bad, it's just as bad as ADSL.

As bumface says if your neighbours have got it, ask them what they think :)

I've had VM (well NTL now VM) for about 12 years and apart from some teething problems back in the 512k buy your own modem days, have basically had no real problems (a lot less than pretty much all my friends/neighbours who went ADSL, and usually a much faster connection).

However some areas do have problems, as do some users who go for the cheapest VM package for a house with multiple heavy users, and then complain about being throttled (I've seen some funny threads with uni students complaining that the cheapest package isn't suitable for 4-6 users all downloading/watching iplayer etc).
