Achica furniture damaged when unpacked after 2 weeks

I wouldnt accept a damaged item at full price. But neither would I make a sweeping generalisation that anyone that accepts damaged goods has no pride in their home. Its just silly.
Cost and worth are 2 entirely different things and the "worth" of an item depends on the person and their needs.
It's not silly at all I was referring to people accepting damaged goods and not bothering to wait for a perfect alternative.
If you are going to buy a new piece of furniture and then cover it, you might just as well use an old soap box.0 -

And I guess thats the difference, some people like having nice things for themselves, other people like to have nice things to try and impress other people.
Neither is right or wrong, they're just different. Like I said, worth depends on the person and their needs. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
Achica got back to me again and so far they are trying to be as helpfull as possible but of course its not going to be fully resolved until the exchange is complete.
They do want photo attachments which I will send but they have not questioned when it was unpacked at all. I explained the difficulties with the packing and that the only reuseable part of it is the bubble wrap and asked if there was any way that the packaging could be done by the collectors.
They emailed back again and reasured me not to be concerned about the packing as they would arrange that with whoever collects it and have them deal with that sufficiently.
What they have done so far is get in touch with the manufacturers to ask if they have an exact replacement and it will take them 72 hours to check stock and reply. Once they have that information they will contact me to let me know what the next stage in the process will be. They have told me even if it is in stock at the manufacturer it will still take around 4 weeks to go through the system to get to me but thats ok with me so long as I get it in the end.
I'm just worried in case it happens again or it turns up a different colour to the other one or something but I will have to trust in them. So far they are being very responsive which is good.Thanx

Even fantastic companies have problems/make mistakes sometimes. You can usually tell what kind of company you're dealing with by how they handle matters when a problem/mistake does arise.
They sound (from what you've said) like a good company who are trying to get this sorted without much hassle for yourself so give them a chance and see how it turns out
And dont forget to update us when it arrives to let us know if there is a further problem/if everything was ok. Good luck! You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0
