Need help with an argument with Orange!

Yeah the perk discount is available to local goverment employees and is not dependent on handset price. If they have written it on your contract they should honour it.
You will probably be passed from pillar to post so I would ask to speak to speak to a TL and if they don't allow you, make a formal complaint.
If they don't sort it through their complaints procedure, then they will escalate it to their exec office.
Ultimately it's the shop's mistake but you're not getting anywhere with them so I think this will be the best way to go.0 -
Thank you so much! I appreciate your advice. Do state school teachers count as local government employees? Should I be entitled to the discount?
Is 'TL' a team leader? The last few times I've called Orange, I've been put through to what sounds like a foreign call centre...0 -

Yes I believe state school teachers are included. Even if they weren't they should apply it if it's on the contract they gave you. Like I say, handset price is irrelevant.
And yes, TL is Team Leader. Sorry it's habit.
You will get pu through to an off shore call centre but they should still escalate it for you. If they don't come back and let me know!0 -
It makes no difference what you are entitled to
What matters is what you were offered to conclude the contract which was the 20%
It may be worth starting a paper trail at this stage rather than phone calls or face to face confrontation. It will make it easier to prove the steps taken to rectify the situation before going to court should the situation come to thatIt's not just about the money0 -
Thank you both! I really, really appreciate your help and advice! I will keep you posted.0

I don't imagine it will come to this but if you don't get anywhere with another call then a paper trail would be beneficial.0 -

And is the fact that the 20% discount wasn't in the body of the contract itself irrelevant too? Does the additional print out form part of the contract?0 -

I'd be inclined to disagree ...the OP has already been to the shop and the idiot of the salesperson refused to speak to HO ...why on earth the manager was not involved at this stage we can only imagine.oopsadaisydoddle wrote: »I don't imagine it will come to this but if you don't get anywhere with another call then a paper trail would be beneficial.
Further discussions like that are going to be a waste of time it might as well be nipped in the bud now and start the ball rolling.
At the end of the day it's Orange's problem as a company to sort it out as thats where the papers are going to end up when they get servedIt's not just about the money0 -
I asked to speak to the manager... the salesperson said he had discussed my case with him and that the manager was not prepared to speak to me and agreed with everything I had been told. Outrageous!!0
