DLA I know someone lying on form - advise pliz

Like I've said before, if the OP is 100% certain that this is a fraudulent claim, then a) I don't see how they can make a statement in support of it, b) they have a duty to report it to the DWP if they are sure.
In your position I may be tempted to ask the parent to come to a meeting to discuss the whole situation, with a colleague present for support. (Not to intimidate the parent or to make any accusations).
It may be that there are other care needs away from school that the teachers are unaware of. Discussing these can help explain the submission on the form.
It is though the OP's decision at the end of the day.[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.

Or the parent may be confused and need some extra help filling in the form and being aware of the childs abilities rather than delibarate falsification.Play nice  Just because I am paranoid doesn't mean they are not out to get me.:j0

Actually the correct thing to do is simply state your opinion on the form you have been given if its different to the mother's, instead of overeacting reporting fraud etc.
Remember as you have been told already tho that the qualifier isnt been unable to do something at all, its unable to do without significant discomfort 'or' not 'and' repeatedly and safely. So althoughshe may take part in PE do you know if she is using aids or drugged up with painkillers?0 -

I used to work 12 hour night shifts, on my feet all the time. I used to have to sit down for 15 minutes or so before i had the energy to go home and was then fit for nothing except falling into bed. Didn't mean i was disabled though.
What about holidays and weekends when these children aren't wearing themselves out at school?
While people are prepared to always look for excuses and not accept that some people exaggerate and downright lie on application forms and to doctors then fraud will continue. It will be the genuine though that will pay the price.
But the parent has put it down as she sees it. The school worker can only put it down as she sees it. The school worker has no idea what the child is like at home.
Maybe the parent did exaggerate maybe she didn't. I don't live with the child and neither does the school worker.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
Thanks for people's thoughts.
I was going to quote answers to some replies. I actually have a good relationship with the child and family, and have actually brought her grades up more in the six months I have been with her than for the last three years so I do have her welfare and education at heart. Maybe because I am specialist in h condition?
X takes no drugs etc as it is a visual impairment so getting tired from walking is never an issue. I do know she needs help in new environment, ironically her eyesight itself it better than mine but it is the light and shade that causes an issue.
I agree that she is entitled to dla but it is the category that I feel is wrong.
I have filed my section in with what I do and will continue to make sure X can access the curriculum as much as possible.Don’t put it down - put it away!

"I have filed my section in with what I do and will continue to make sure X can access the curriculum as much as possible."
and there in lies the nub of this dilemma
DLA is NOT awarded for having a disability - it's for how the disability impairs their ability to CARE for themselves
in my opinion people employed in any TEACHING capacity are not the appropriate people to comment on the care needs of the child0
