I think so. But then people will complain that they didn't get a letter, having forgotten that they did.

The alternative theory is that they'd like you to take your money and go away sooner rather than later, because they don't even want it at 0.5%.

It seems to me from reading this thread that what ever Santander do there will be somebody somewhere not happy, I'm not saying they are perfect by any stretch of the imagination but to complain that they have sent a letter informing you that the interest rate is going down (as was clearly stated on opening the account) seems to me to be a bit harsh.

And I assume in July (when my issue 5 reaches its anniversary) I can just set up a new Issue 11 (or whatever it is then) and move the money to that. Issue 10 is currently 1.5%, not brilliant but typical of what is available at the moment.
