Just checked on the earlier issues and they all have variable rates,so looks like I will be heading for those premium bonds soon.0

Me too Issue 5 opened in June 2012. In fact, I'm slightly over the £85k total (including the Major ISA)
There's the rub. But I'm definitely coming round to the 'Time in the market' rather than 'Timing the market' school of thought. Problem is, in my early 60s, just how much time in the market have I left  :rotfl:
Eeekdon't be daft, still need to plan for when you're in your 90's. Now it appears we all need to be making other plans for our cash.....

Oh No!
At least I have the ex 5% home saver which is now instant access at the rate of 3% however would be very bad news otherwise.
I'm tempted to think this is been done to try and get people onto the 123 account and/or sell investment products. Given the news today seems a bad day to start notifying people.
They are cutting it fine with the notice, I'm sure they have to give 1 month for an adverse cut and notify via national papers. It's not even on their website!0 -
Mine is ESAVER (ISSUE 6) MONTHLY so I guess I'll wait to hear...Savings target £100,000. Current savings £18,000. Target time 24 months - and counting!0
