Mobile contract - Final invoive?

Hello,

I have just called my phone company as I am swapping my contract to pay as you go (same company). The chap on the phone said it will all be done and they will post out my final invoice.

I am at the end of the contract and have paid all my bills, I asked if there was anything to pay and he said there is no termination fee.

Just wondering why they send a final invoice? Is it a standard procedure? bit worried as invoices usually mean something to pay.

Thanks

Quite often the final invoice will show a credit balance if you pay your line rental up front, so they might actually owe you money.

If the account balance is nil, then it will be for information purposes only.

Leave the DD active for a further month in case of any late charges. Easier to dispute an invalid DD going through than getting a Credit Record black mark, even if it's their fault.

I'd even be tempted to leave it for at least two months. Having ported out from T-Mob fairly recently it was my experience that I received two final invoices. That the second one was for a grand total of £0.00 which was pretty pointless but I suppose it's not out with the realms of possibility that they could have required me to pay a bit more if there had been errors somewhere etc.
