Watch this University of California video, it's under 8 minutes long.

    Sugar - A Sweet Addiction

    Things will make sense
Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan
    48 down, 22 to go
Low carb, low oxalate Primal + dairy
From size 24 to 16 and now stuck...
  • I suffered from this and it developed into bulimia :(

Exercise really helped me, I started craving protein post-exercise, not sugar.

Good luck and lots of hugs!

  • Thanks to everyone for replying.

I do think I have a sugar addiction. I also have PCOS which I believe doesn't help my situation, although I know I can't use that as an excuse like I admit to doing in the past.

I suppose i have no idea where to start. I contacted b-eat and they told me to see my GP.

I don't get hungry on a morning - I usually have to force any breakfast down which is why I have the yogurt etc - it's easy for me.

I have so tried restricting refined carbs but that didn't seem to work either. I still binged.

I have seen a 'dietician' through my GP in the past who was overweight herself and showed me the 'eatwell plate'!

lots of anecdotal evidence of women with pcos being helped by changing the way they eat to low carb - you could also investigate the specific carbohydrate diet (though it's arguably more awkward.

Agree. Don't buy crap and then it's not there to tempt you.

If other family members want to eat crap then give them the money and tell them to get it themselves and keep it away from you.

I didn't buy them - my MIL gave them to me so the kods could have a 'treat' - and I caved! There were still some left for the kods bu the way, I'm not quite that bad yet!!

Just thinking of times where I have had a healthy filling evening me and then eaten some chocs or sweets (whole box of M&S turkish delight). I did this while DH was thinking I was in the bath.

I do eat emotionally - when I'm happy, sad, stressed etc etc!
  • Apolgies for typos - stupid phone!!x
  • Exercise, exercise and more exercise - also lifts your mood.

Have you been checked for hypothyroidism?

Overeaters, just like overdrinkers will always come up with an excuse that they think makes it ok or just that once... etc etc.

Get a grip. I shan't tell you again.

Would you say the same to an anorexic?

    Or a bulimic?

Why is it different then, just because I don't purge after?

I didn't take the things of MIL - they came with the kids. And yes, once they were there, I ate them.

I agree about your analogy to likening the situation with a drinker...the difference is, if a drinker asks for help - they more often than not get it.

I don't buy stuff for me. The things I have mentioned have been gifts. In fact the turkish delight was a gift for someone else until I ate it.
