Loads! More than ever. Just not much to say really. Life goes on as normal. Work goes up and down. Changes come and go. LF chugs along.0

It appears that Leapforce are recruiting at the moment. I see that one of the requirements is that applicants use Google + at least once per month. I use Google products extensively and have a number of Gmail accounts and have done for many years but I've only used Google + a few times and hardly ever in the past few years.
Does this count me out? I don't know anyone who makes regular use of Google + but perhaps there are plenty who do.0 -
I didn't have a Google+ when I applied. Indeed, there's no part of the job that even uses it. I assume it's the same now as when I was hired (3 years ago).0

OK, that's great, many thanks for getting back to me.0

Hello, hello! Just wondered if I am right in thinking that LF (over LB) would be best for me?? I'm thinking of committing about 10 hours a week. I'm a heavy google user (plus Chromebook), and I have a bachelors degree. Is Leapforce best for me or is it much of a muchness?
Thank you!0 -

I tend to do about 10 hours a week on average (around my full time job) so LF should be a good option for you
I'm not too clued up on the differences between LF and LB but I've been with LF for 3 years now and am very happy with it! Especially if you're looking to do around 10 hours a week you should find that you're able to do that easily with the level of work available.0 -
Hello all. I sent my CV to Leapforce about a month ago and haven't heard from them. I assume that's a no. Mildly surprised as I have a degree and plenty of IT, web and search experience going back over 20 years. Their website still says that they're experiencing "unprecedented demand" for their services. I've also seen numerous posts elsewhere from US Leapforce workers whose hours have been cut - often in half - so that Leapforce can avoid various employer liabilities.
Does anyone know on what basis they turn people down?
Having said that, many posters - again in other forums - are saying that they are only able to get about an hour or so of work a week and that certainly wouldn't be worth the effort if it's general. Lastly, does anyone know of any similar online work which isn't related to Google search?
Thanks in advance for any thoughts on this.0 -
Hi Andrew,
personally I find leapforce a bit crap in replying to emails and applications. They will just file it and then randomly email you in months/years.
Lionbridge are a bit better but they used to have a 1 year max policy. No one knew why, workers are counted as self employed independent contractors so there was no change in employment rights after a year.
I currently work for Appen, if you can get in I highly recommend them, they are stricter and it's harder to get in, but they feel much more professional. I have been with them for 4 years now. I'm currently on 30 hours a week and have been for a couple of years, and with the way the pound dropped against the dollar its pretty good money.0 -
Ah, many thanks! I'll take a look at Appen. Any tips on how to get accepted by them?0
-
PS I see Appen are mostly interested in relatively heavy users of Facebook or Instagram. I use Facebook occasionally, and have 60 friends there, but I'm a much heavier user of Twitter and have just under 4,500 followers. Is that likely to be a problem?0
