  • thanks - isnt there the chance earn to do more work with Leapforce? I think thats why i applied to them first. I know there can be quiet times. How long is Appens contract? Can i apply for Appen even though i have applied for Leapforce? Dont want to miss out on Appen if for some reason Leapforce decline my application. Thought i would of heard something by now... :/
Yes you can do as many hours as you want with Leapforce. You can apply to them both at the same time but not you can't work for both.

No, because we signed a non-disclosure agreement. Reads the exam materials and take the qualifying exams and you'll get a sense of what the work is like.

Appen offer exactly 20 hours that you can do whenever you want. I'm not sure if they offer any extra.

I'm not sure that is true - it's 20 hours a week but 4 hours per day Monday to Friday I think. That is why I didn't apply as I can't always do that much during the week and need to be able to work at the weekends which I don't believe you can do with Appen. From what I gathered Appen is the least flexible of the three.

You can't until you apply and get accepted. They send you the exam material then so that you can prepare for the exam.

Google for "Search Engine Evaluator" there is information online about what the job involves.

Yes you're absolutely right, it is supposed to be 4 hours per day. I'm sure I have seen an Appen worker saying you don't have to follow this exactly and you can make up for hours on other days as long as you do the 20 hours in the week. I'm not sure to what extent they allow this and how often they allow them to but I think you're right about not being allowed to work at weekends.

I think the biggest problem with Appen seems to be with how strict they are and the churn rate.

It was 4 hours a day Mon-Fri when I did a brief stint with them.

If you couldn't do the 4 hours in one day you could only make it up to 5 hours the next.

Between that and the silly rating system they used, I decided to leave. Too much hassle.
  • still not heard from leap force its been over a week since i submitted my application. I think its a bit odd you cant chase up your application. They are still advertising for the job role. Grr

They completely ignored my last application, although to be fair that was probably because I admitted to having applied to them previously on the form.

Am also having the same problem with LB at the moment, though. Applied last Friday, received a confirmation email, but have heard nothing since.. In the past, they used to at least send a rejection email if you didn't qualify, but maybe they're now following the LF approach instead?! Who knows.. Am starting to feel pretty frustrated now, though.
