Emirates live up to their good reputation

Had a 24 hour delay on an Emirates flight out of Manchester in 2011 due to an engine problem. Whilst Emirates put us up in a hotel overnight, we lost a days holiday and a pre paid excursion in Dubai. When I asked them about compensation on return from holiday they declined to offer any. However following the ruling I wrote to them and they paid out a total of £965 pounds for the 2 of us.
It took them about 2 months to do it and finding an address to send the initial letter to was difficult, but in the end used their UK address for their frequent flyer club.

I guess this fits with Emirates customer service approach that has seen them get a good reputation
