Thomas Cook or Thomas Crook

I had a 23 hr delay, going to Disney World Florida, from Glasgow in August 2012. I have received nothing in compensation,

I started procceedings against this company with the CAA whilst in America,August 2012 its now February 2013 and Thomas Cook refuses to accept blame.

It is not easy to get compensation from an Airline, ive been getting updates every three weeks from the CAA.

7 months on and it looks like im getting nothing, but im not giving up, Thomas Cook or Thomas Crook as I know call them, make the CAA wait for a reply.

we did eventually get out the airport ( we had checked in and could not get back out ) and was put up in a hotel and were able to commence out holiday the next day.

oh and they gave us five pounds for lunch, try getting a lunch for 5 pounds in a uk airport!!!

Im not holding my breath. The crew knew the flight was not going ahead, yet we were checked in.:(

Have you actually started legal proceedings against them or only reported them to the CAA? At the end of the day TC and other UK airlines are resisting most claims and you may, if you have not already done so, have to sue them. If proceedings are underway, then the court should move things along and no airline can delay, certainly not for months, the process of the court
  • Do not give up hope! I started claiming last October for a 10 hour delayed flight I had in 2009 from Turkey to Manchester with Thomas Cook after lots of letters and them claiming I wasnt entitled to anything i received this week a cheque for £1051.00!!! They did try and send me a holiday voucher but I refused this and asked for a cheque! Dont let them put you off claiming with their excuses!!
  • What was the reason for the delay?
  • Can you claim if you longer have your flight tickets? I have the date, time, flight number.
    Thanks
  • yes just provide as much details as you can, the only thing i had for my claim was a letter i received after we got home from the holiday stating why my flight was delayed- it only had my flight number on, not even my name and address! so they obviously have it still on their system somewhere to check
