BMIbaby, now owned by BA= No compensation?

Bmibaby were taken over by BA I believe.
I'm assuming we can't claim from BA for BmiBaby flights back in 2008?
11hr delay at Faro airport. So annoying, I complained in writing at the time and got nowhere. Sure I won't have any details no anyway.:mad:

BMI Baby ceased to exist , they were purchased by IAG from Lufthansa and closed down.
IAG owns BA and Iberia
BMI Mainline became part of BA after being purchased by IAG
BMI Regional became a seperate company and is still operating

Success!! Just received e-mail from BA that they will pay 800 euro compensation to me for 27 hour BMIBABY delay from Malaga in May 2012. Made the claim on 8/11/12 and they said they needed proof of booking or boarding cards but might be worth making a claim anyway.

I was delayed (flight was cancelled and rescheduled for the following day) from Malaga to Belfast in May 2012 with BMI Baby - could you advise who you wrote to?
