Network Connection Problem

Hi
Was hoping some could help.....
The OH laptop appears to have developed problems accessing the internet via the home router. It connects OK but there is no access to the internet.
All other network devices are fine.
I've tried deleting the network entry and recreating it but the same problem exists.
I have noticed that Windows Firewall has 'Home' network as not connected and 'Public' as being connected and I think this may be relevant but cannot find out how to turn off/on the firewall connection status.

Go into the Network and Sharing Center. What icon is displayed next to your network's name under "View your active networks"?
What version of Windows on the laptop? How do I add a signature?0 -

What version of Windows on the laptop?
It's displaying a park bench icon with unidentified network / public network.

Click on Unidentified / Public Network, change to Private
Or
Clicking on the icon in the 'View your active networks' merely gives me the option to change the network name..... Except I can't as the name field doesn't allow editing.
I've tried deleting the network entry and recreating it but I hit the same problem. I just need to get Windows bloody firewall to see it as a home private connection.
I know the router is OK because all other devices are OK and with the laptop we can connect to an actual public network nearbyPersonal Responsibility - Sad but True

Thanks for trying but I can't see where you mean 'public' I don't have that.
I have pretty much the same screen as you but your houses are park benches and my network is unidentifiedPersonal Responsibility - Sad but True

that's where you need to be
the blue writing in the above screenshot is a link to be able to change the network type - on yours, click public/unidentified and change to Home network, and you'll get a house instead of a park bench......

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
