Are the papers genuine?
Best to post over at pepipoo for advice.0 -
Well you might as well defend this as the costs won't go up if you lose. We can help you with a defence that works. But there's no point of us doing that if you simply going to give up and be scammed by this company. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Now that Parking Eye may be issuing court papers, is it not a good idea for those who get them to post with the following details
Car park
Discounted charge
Full charge after 14 days.
Same applies for any PPC who looks like they are getting litigious.
The reason is that the PPC may choose to claim that this is a genuine estimate of losses/costs. If so, then this would be the charge in all of their car parks, wouldn't it? If there is a difference, and this is shown in court, it kind of blows away that defence.
OP should look at this thread https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/59686167#Comment_59686167 from post #6 if he decides to defend. It would be of benefit to all if it was tested.0 -

I'm happy to fight it providing the cost's don't escalate but I'm also concerned about the stress. I'm a full time degree student and my partner is also in full time studies so time is very limited. Plus I'll be honest, I don't have a clue what I'm doing lol.
I've never experienced anything like this before!0 -
Okay you first need to acknowledge the claim and say you are going to defend it fully, you can ask for an extra 28 days. Do this on mcol and come back once you've done this. The costs are not going to escalate at all from here on in.When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.

ok, I've submitted my AOS and made it clear that I intend to defend the charges. Now I presume I need a defence? This is where I get stuck as I have no idea what defence I could use?0

Yes I concur with Manx above, they can offer a defence to this. They have a good track record on defending cases like this. It will come down to VCS -v- HMRC I would advise reading the judgement on this, the pepipoo link has the bullet points relevant to you

Please follow the advice there, take a photo or scan of the paperwork, scrub all information that identifies you or the claim. Post it up on photobucket.com and post the link on that threadя.When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
