The latest of many doorstep traders to ignore my very clear NO DOORSTEP TRADERS sign.

So, I have written the following letter to Ringtons...

Dear Sirs

One of your agents called at my house at around 10:45am today, despite a very clear notice that WE DO NOT DEAL WITH UNINVITED TRADERS.

When I pointed out the notice to your agent and asked that she should respect that notice, she said that every house had such notices but she had a job to do and that if she did not ignore such notices she would have no work.

Given your agent's clear indication that she ignores such notice, despite an apparent understanding of The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008, I have reported this matter to Humberside Police and North Lincolnshire Trading Standards.

Should I receive any future visits from any of your servants or agents. these will be similarly reported with a view to prosecution under the aforesaid regulations.

Your agent was driving a Peugeot 206, registration number:

Yours faithfully

Yes. There have been threads here about this company before.

OP - I'd recommend editing your post to remove or mask the car reg number. This could be classed as identifiable data (as in someone may be able to use it to identify the person in question) ... which is a breach of forum rules.

Yes, Ringtons Teas sell tea! Whatever they sell, they should still respect the occupiers' wishes. It is now an offence under trading regulations to ignore a request not to make a personal visit for trading purposes.

I don't believe my post breaches the rules, unless you can provide the relevant text in the rules indicating otherwise.

Your choice. I only gave friendly advice - if you don't wish to act on it so be it. :)

Posting the reg number doesn't enhance your original post in any beneficial way.

Just wondering why you chose to involve the police in this matter ? There appears to be no reason at all to do so.

There are valid reasons for doing so, that cannot be published on this forum.
