Ahem, but you are talking rubbish! Ebay will not get involved in a sale where paypal was not involved. Bank transfer is a safe method of receiving payment. Don't comment unless you know what you're talking about!:j30/7/10:j

i would be very worried about sending the item as if they claim they did not recieve it you cannot track the item, and you will be liable to refund them via e bay rules!!!! personnally i never ever send anything i sell out of the uk as i cannot send it tracked.
just beware
if you do send it tracked it would cost you arm and a leg !!!!
Eh? Really, you need to read that back.
In line with advice here, BT is as safe as houses (on a cliff in Whitby) / maybe / but do / dont take my word for it.
Honestly how do some of you wash in the mornings?
OP, take the BT. Spend it on alcohol and loose women. :cool:0 -

If you read my post i never mentioned anything about the banK transfer i just gave my opinion on sending items out of the uk and without tracking !!!!
Also if you look in e bays customer support it states you can pay by any method that the seller states does not effect your rights as a buyer or seller so if they open a case for non delivery you may be opening yourself up to losing money if you have to refund the buyer. E bay and paypal are two different entities (even tho they are owned by the same company) both of which have their own procedures to follow , just because you chose not to pay thro paypal does not mean you have no recourse thro e bay , So please dont tell me i dont know what i am talking about thank you :mad::mad::mad:0 -

You might need to re read the eBay help pages, and also take a quick look at the sticky postage thread.
eBay says
You can pay for items by PayPal or credit or debit cards. Before you bid or buy, check the listing to see which payment methods the seller accepts. Contact the seller if you have questions.
PayPal is the preferred method as you can make payments without sharing your bank or credit card details. If you sign up with PayPal, you'll also be protected for the full value of most purchases, including postage, under eBay Buyer Protection.
Cheques, postal orders, and direct bank transfers are not allowed for most eBay purchases. Find out more about choosing a payment method.

I'm not quite sure where you think you saw that there was full buyer protection on eBay for a buyer with bank transfer. If buyer has o protection then you must admit that does rather change the 'point' of the thread.
Obviously though a good seller will not disadvantage a buyer who pays by other means, and that is why you need to read the postage sticky about what you need to be ale to reclaim your losses if item goes astray.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. This is what eBay actually say about buyer protection if PayPal is not used :
You paid with PayPal to the seller's nominated PayPal account. (If you have not paid with PayPal you should still enter your case as eBay will try, as set out below, to facilitate a resolution with the seller.)
Note the word 'try' , ie they will ask seller to refund if they think buyer has a case but will not force it.

You ask us to stop telling you you're a plantpot. But first you say you can't send abroad tracked, then say it will cost you an arm and a leg if you do. Which is it? And who advised the OP to send it without tracking? And thirdly - did he even ask about tracking? Finally - how do you know how much it will cost with no info on size and weight?i would be very worried about sending the item as if they claim they did not recieve it you cannot track the item, and you will be liable to refund them via e bay rules!!!! personnally i never ever send anything i sell out of the uk as i cannot send it tracked.

However - you've got the smiley thing down pat.0 -
