Call Divert on Orange

I want to use the call divert facility on my mobile to periodically transfer my calls to either a UK landlien number or a different UK mobile phone (which is on the Virgin Network). I am currently an Orange contract customer and am on the racoon 30 plan and am using a Motorola L6.

Two questions:

1. Will this cost me anything to use call divert over and above my monthly contract cost? Orange CS verbally said no extra cost and nothing would be taken from minute allocation however just wanted to be 100% sure and check.

2. I have two options on call divert on the phone - divert when unavailable (currently used for voicemail) or all calls. Obviously I'd need to use the all calls option to transfer to another phone however does that mean I'd lose the voicemail facility through Orange although presumably I could still use that facility on the mobile/number to which the call was diverted.

Any help would be appreciated.

Point 1- orange CS are talking rubbish. If you transfer a call you will pay for the transfer cost part of the call, ie from your Orange phone to either a Landline or your Virgin phone. You will be charged this at your standard Network rate, and if you have inclusive minutes, i should think this would come out of your minute allocation.

Point 2- All calls will lose your Orange phone, however the answer service on the service to which you have transferred too, will still work.

Thanks Richard, I've had conflicting advice before from Orange CS which is why I wanted to check. Anyone know definitely how I would be charged (I am on contract, so hopefully out of my inclusive minutes which I wouldn't mind)?

I am 99% sure the Orange billing system will see this as a staight call to either a landline or a mobile, depending on which you divert too, and will take the cost of the call from your inclusive minutes. Can any one confirm this, Like i say i am 99% sure, but you never can tell with Orange.

I think it may depend on your contract.

On earlier contracts I was charged for forwarding to another network; Orange told me that only forwards to Orange and landlines would come from the inclusive minutes.

But on more recent contracts, as I've read on here, other networks will also come from inclusive minutes.

Thanks Redux - any chance you could sign-post me to the otjer forum post which may confirm this definitively as couldn't find anything. I'm on racoon 30 which I took out last August.
