    I agree that its not a scam BUT the Op has a point.

    He was given a total price, then told it would have to be in 2 bookings, he agreed to that, then paid the for the first booking.
    When asked for payment for the second it had gone up in price, at that point he could have not payed but it is unlikely expedia would have returned the monies for the first booking, so he didnt really have oppurtunity to cancel as a poster keeps repeating on here.

    After paying for the first booking he was stuck. Expedia were wrong in giving him a total price and then changing it half way through.

    I know why they did it but it doesnt make it right
