Weird things happening on O2 phones

Options
Hi there,

I just had a phone call from a friend, about 2 mins into the call i heard another woman on my call talking about sending emails etc and other things, then her saying bye bye, bye bye while this was taking place i could not hear or talk to my friend so i ended the call and rang her back. I asked her if she heard the woman who was on the call when i was talking to her and she also said yes she heard this other woman.

Can someone tell me whats going on as i have heard a few
people are having this problem?

Apparently O2 are aware of this problem and are trying to sort it out, but this has been going on for days now. So it seems a private conversation is not very private anymore.

This happened to me and the other half on Friday - I got enough info from the guy I could hear to change anything on his insurance policy.

Apparently my other half got the other side of the same conversation I had, I tweeted o2 and they ignored me.

Can't say I am impressed. To be honest o2 are gone at the end of the contract, too many problems...

Happened to me earlier.. talking to the office when suddenly we both heard another person speaking in a foreign language quite clearly. Perhaps the governments monitoring of our calls has got the connections crossed!

O2 seems to have a creaky old network that they are trying to keep going until the 4G allocation.

I think the O2 problems started when they put their bet on EDGE when they got the original iPhone exclusive, of course EDGE was very quickly killed by 3G and the O2 implementation of 3G doesn't seem to have been as well done as the others.

I would suspect O2 is going to limp along (and fall over a few more times) before they have the network overhaul that will be needed for the new LTE infrastructure.

  • This happened to me the other day - I didn't even know it was an O2 issue!!

Really freaked my friend out though as she had just called to tell me her step mom(irish woman) had died then we heard an irish woman talking and couldnt understand a thing she was saying! Then the phone just cut off so i called my friend back!

I will let her know it wasn't a ghost then and just rubbish old O2 lol

  • This happened to myself yesterday about 1.30pm. Calling from Giffgaff in Norwich to a giffgaff user in Birmingham. Was having a normal conversation, then phone switched to another call and I could hear a man having a conversation. Hung up when I realised they couldnt hear me. Frightening though I hope noone can hear my calls - O2 need to sort their network out - people could be giving out personal details out e.g card details if they were making a payment over the phone, outrageous. Does anyone know how we complain to O2 about it?
  • My daughter using Orange network rang me at 7pm, I use Giff Gaff, I could clearly hear a mans voice having a conversation saying you might aswell disconnect the call?
