Tablet: my samsung 10" and 7" so different?

Santa brought me Samsung Galaxy tab 2 10"

enjoying it

decided to buy my wife Samsung Galaxy tab 2 7" to replace her kindle

I'm surprised how different the layout is I had to check that it is I'm fact the same os - both on ics

trying to set it up quickly so she can use it as a kindle reader

took me few minutes to figure out where her settings were

dunno whether this is a question, complaint or just an observation so be interested in any comments really

not even sure it should be posted here except I have a desktop, a laptop, 2 tablets and 100's mobiles and the tablets have lot more in common with my mobile and virtually nothing in common with my pcs

Yeah I found that there is a huge difference between 10 and 7 inch tablets. I have the in between size of 8.9 inches. I think the way android has made 7 inch tablets so narrow means that you have to zoom a lot of the time to see certain content which is very irritating.

I wish tablets were more like PCs. Would be great to do everything on the tab and take it everywhere with it being so light. Oh well maybe in the next few years.

If they're both on ICS then the layout should be the same. If they're on Jelly Bean (4.1.x) then the 7" tablet will use the new layout as debuted on the Nexus 7.
