Too many possibilities
and yes you and your mam need cheering up not people sitting round glum I know it is hard but people have to act happy even though they dont feel it. Plenty of time to be sad when they leave the room

Hi all.................may I come in please x0

hope all are well and hugs to anyone needing them.
hope you've all been getting loads of bargains and huge stashes0 -
My mum did the same thing a few years ago. She sold her Mums engagement ring after she was told it was worth several hundred pounds  She didn't need the money for anything in particular but said she'd rather use it to enjoy herself rather than the ring just sitting in a box.
I've still got a ring of my Grandma's. It's not worth as much as the one Mum had but if i'm honest, it does just sit in a box.... Can definitely see Mum's point
My Nan gave me her wedding ring before she died and I swore to her I'd use it as my wedding ring too.
My Mum always called it my Nans curtain ring(it's just a basic round plain gold ring that Mum says used to have a pattern on it and it wore off)
I got married and followed through on my promise and it sits proudly on my finger (a bit tight but it's there) and even when money gets tight I don't think I could ever bring myself to get rid of it for the few pounds I'd get for it's weight - it's value is neglibile over it's 60+ year age (unknown because the hallmarks almost worn off).
I think I posted a while back my Nan would have loved you guys and this thead, I guess some of how they lived rubs off on us with our bargain sniffing, I know my Nan would have adored doing the whole APG thing to keep her mind active if she was still here (she hated wasting anything, I still remember her wrapping in a serviette some cold sausages at a restaurant because I wasn't going to eat them)
Sorry for wittering, your posts just made me remember silly things and made me smileHistoric Debt August 2009 = £63,600 10th March 2017 = £0 100% paid all gone!
