Just got my apology and told my account would be credited with the missing loo rolls I emailed late on the 22nd :T
:T yay, hopefully I get my 35p back from my coke bottle by the end of the weekI remember getting a new hoover when DDs were younger, they played Daleks for weeks with the box. :rotfl:He he, our box is currently a partially constructed carI ran out of pritt stick after 3 wheels so I've promised him we'll finish it after his nap. He still hadn't forgiven me for putting the one we made out of the Boots box in the recycling :rotfl: Might have redeemed myself now :T
They say the best things in life are free :rotfl: DS gets annoyed if I bin a box he's been playing in, even where it's got to the point of being so battered it can't even stand upright anymore!
I have a photo somewhere of DD hiding in a massive box when she was barely 2 and all you can see is this teeny head and 2 eyes peering over the top. I think it says 'caution heavy load' or something on the side too, it's still one of my fave pics and I SHALL be using it to embarrass her on her 18th (along with a pic of her face wearing half a tub of nutella type chocolate)
Historic Debt August 2009 = £63,600 10th March 2017 = £0 100% paid all gone!
Mortgage started June 2015 = £170,000 January 2022 = £134,000
Saving for Xmas 2022= . . Amazon £55

Daft thing is she has the money to pay them back and on time. Apparently it was just a courtesy call to say money due by later on in the week. She could have just asked us, 'but didn't like to'
She's done loads to help us lately and we wouldn't have had a problem helping her out of a tight spot.
Makes methat she didn't feel she could ask and  that she put DHs name down behind our backs.
Still, should all be sorted soon
Years ago I was guarantor for my brother when he was out of work so he could buy a new washing machine and I had to give written consent.
It seems odd to me that she could do this without his permission.
It's worrying that someone could do this without his prior consent even if it is his mother.0 -
I found out recently that mum pawned an antique ring after my dad died about 10 years ago when it was one of our birthdays.
She only got £50 for it too.
Funny how their minds work as she had money in a building society account at the time and to this day is has not been touched. I would have rather had the family heirloom.
My mum did the same thing a few years ago. She sold her Mums engagement ring after she was told it was worth several hundred pounds  She didn't need the money for anything in particular but said she'd rather use it to enjoy herself rather than the ring just sitting in a box.
I've still got a ring of my Grandma's. It's not worth as much as the one Mum had but if i'm honest, it does just sit in a box.... Can definitely see Mum's point♥ Worrying does not empty tomorrow of it's troubles.... it empties today of it's strength ♥0 -

keep an on your workmen stinky and don't accept anything less than a perfect job that your satisfied with!.....don't want to be seeing you on DIY SOS:eek:
Dear god it gets worse,I've just got home after popping to sada and one of the dopey twerps here has sanded down my walls and not bothered putting up a dust sheet. My entire kitchen is covered in a thick layer of dust now. Counters, fruit bowl, cats food. I'm about to blow a flipping casket here. What a complete plum!
There's always an upside to getting switched off. There gonna turn you on at some point!Mumto2monkeys wrote: »Good afternoon, what a miserable, grey day it is here. Just had a little outing with DS and was passing a small asda ( was Netto) thought it would be rude not to pop in. They had 28 wash surf liquid for £1.50 :jwhich scanned at my larger @sd@ yesterday at £3 so it looks like its only the ex - Netto @sd@s.
Easter eggs are buy 2 get 2 free in T today. They were putting them out in the foyer as I went in. Still a few mags left if ure in the area of St-foot branch.
Have a lovely afternoon.
The surf is scanning at £3 in my sada as well. DevastatedImdebtfree wrote: »Omg

This ring was my great great aunts and was gold, with rubys, would have been worth so much more than the £50 she got. They saw her coming I think.I got to wear it once and actually rather liked it so it would not have sat in the box.
Thing is I'm sure whoever's birthday it was would have rather gone without at the time. I don't know why she would not touch the money in the building society either. Wish she had mentioned it at the time as even if she was adamant about selling it I know a much better offer could have been made. She would not have haggled. :eek:0 -

Seems pretty odd to me too TBH. Maybe DH got his knickers in a twist, wouldn't put it past him :rotfl: After all, she could have put Joe Bloggs down the street down otherwise.....
Oh, you've made me feel much better Caz♥ Worrying does not empty tomorrow of it's troubles.... it empties today of it's strength ♥0 -
MKS has a lovely way with words. :A
See we are synchronised in the middle of the day David.
Just home while mum has other family visit, can't stand the doom and gloom of distant relatives.
Too many possibilities
and yes you and your mam need cheering up not people sitting round glum I know it is hard but people have to act happy even though they dont feel it. Plenty of time to be sad when they leave the roomWhen The Fun Stops Stop0 -
