beef or horse - does it matter?

the title says it all - people will still eat beef even though it may be horse
ditto -people will still study past performance tables even when we are actually told they're meaningless.
which leads me on to advice - usually based upon meaningless stats, tables and forecasts that bamboozle the general public
luckily education has been dumb downed to such an extent that advisors will survive

beef or horse - does it matter ?
No. As long as they tell me which one it is, so I can make my own choice.0 -

you missed the point entirely
even though we are told that past performance is no guarantee for future returns performance tables are still published and we all pile into the top ten
ditto we've been told beef is actually horse but we'll all still be buying beef, mcd's, bk's without a worry
take care now

Considering horse is cheaper than beef, I'll be quite angry if I pay for beef and get horse instead! I wouldn't mind if I ordered horse and got beef however. Of course, we also don't know the state of the horse or whether or not the horse meat was tainted with drugs or other solutions.
Now the big question is: If you found out that your burgers were actually 30% Cat, 30% Horse and 40% Beef, would you be happy? Personally I prefer a stir fry or curry if I know I'm eating cat (as I do when visiting China), but if you didn't know?0 -

And there lies the problem.
All the disgust about eating horses yet no-one could tell the difference until the DNA tests so it obviously isn't due to the flavour. Are horses really cuter than cows or pigs? However correct labelling is the issue, if I buy a beef lasagne I expect it to be beef not 100% horse.
I do wonder if we really need another thread trying to bash advisors though. Some people need them and others prefer DIY, their choice but it does get like a worn record when threads keep starting up on it. The advisers on here give some very useful info so repeatedly trying to attack them on the same subject isn't very helpful.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
Beef or Horse is one thing, but what about Cat or Dog?I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0

Personally I don't save or invest in beef or horse.0

Horses are treated with drugs that are not for use in the human foodchain, phenylbutazone is one of them. This is the main cause for concern, along with the bigger scenario in that we simply do not know what is in our food. You think horse meat swapped for beef is the only case?
That is why I source my food directly from local demeter/organic farms where possible.
People need to widen their minds beyond a simple question of "horse for beef" - that simplistic view is only for retards imho.
