Talk talk problem

Hi,
We are having trouble with our broadband, it doesn't seem to connect to the Internet all the time and we never know when it's going to work! But when I was on the phone to a technician and it started working! So my husband had a thought, he took our landline phone off the holster and laid it on the table and suddenly it kicked the Internet into working! Very weird! But does anyone have any ideas how to solve this problem? Talk talk say there is no fault with our line!
Thank you
Sam

Make sure you have adsl filters on your line! The Master socket should have a filter. One to the modem/router and the other to your phones including extensions.
The fault is your own internal wiring don't let openreach come to fix as it can cost loads.
To test. Remove all phones faxes sky boxes etc from the line. Plug your router through the filter info your main socket. The internet should work normally no matter what the phone is doing.0 -
Do you have a dial tone when the internet is dropped? If not, it's clearly an intermittent line fault. Test using ethernet from the master socket: not an extension socket, not using wi-fi.No free lunch, and no free laptop

We still have a dial tone when there is no Internet.
It's weird that when we are on the landline the Internet seems to work. Could that be a fault with the line?

You haven't said if you have all your filters fitted in correct places this could be your problem0

Yes I believe they are, I have a microfilter from the telephone socket to an extension, then another microfilter from the extension to a lead that goes into the router.

You only need to filter sockets with an active phone connected. Your router should be connected to the master socket directly, running trailing extension leads will inevitably degrade your signal. if you must run extensions, do it by ethernet cable from the router. Test using ethernet, not wi-fi.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Hi,
The Internet now works via my phone/ipad but only if you have the computer on, any ideas on why this is happening?
Thanks0 -

Only need one filter, plugged directly into the main/master socket.0
