I must say I've never had a problem, I own 2 pairs neither specifically say 'made in Scotland' on them. And neither is as old as 5yrs but the oldest pair is 3-4yrs old and I wore then a lot especially trekking through the bad snow we had a couple of yrs ago

My kids have them too, and again, they have been so good that they have looked almost new still when handed down from eldest to middle and middle to youngest

A tip for anyone with size 3 or 4 feet: buy the junior size 4 which usually works out much cheaper and although they come up a tiny bit short for an adult, you won't notice! Also a plus (i think anyway) you get a lot more choice of bright colours!

Cannot comment on quality, as only had my size 4 jr hunters for approx a year of "light" use, mainly school runs and a few odd muddy walks in the park, and they are comfy, soft inside and keep my toes warm.
