I was in TK Maxx Tooting earlier and they had loads of Hunter Wellies- Original and Gloss- got myself a black pair. They seemed to mostly have black, grey, green and purple. Seen a few of the half size ones too in pink.

Not sure if they have them in other branches. Bargain as usually the black ones don't go into sale and are £85.

New hunters are truly crappola, cheap Chinese cack that is poorly made.

Old Hunters however still rule, best off getting old stock from ebay sorry

Old hunters get my vote too! Don't rate the new ones. Also the new ones are cheaper than tkmaxx at agricultural shops, some of which you can order online.

Quite shocking really, when Hunter still seem to be portrayed as a Scotish made product still!

My friend had her new Hunters for a week and they split. When she complained she was told that they are a fashion welly and not meant to be used for farm work!!

Our family invested in Hunters a few years back and they are still going strong, well worn, but going strong.
We bought m'Laddo a pair of new ones and they split in a week, not playing football or owt, just school run type stuff.

Not sure how you tell old stock from new, maybe a quick google will tell all.

  • They have some for £48/49 on amazon as well but selected colours and sizes. PIcked up some aubergine ones in a size 9 at that price.

When comparing original vs new Hunters, would it also be fair to compare who will have been wearing the Hunters.

My point being, people who originally wore Hunters, will have been wearing them as a welly first and foremost. For use in muddy fields etc.

People who wear Hunters now, will use them for walking around the streets.

Rubber wellies will wear quicker on streets rather than muddy fields.

A lot also depends on how you care for the wellies too, being a natural rubber product.
