British airways world traveller

Has anyone travelled recently with them. We are going gatwick to Tampa soon and just wondered what the childrens food etc is like. Are you allowed to take food on board? Got a very picky 4 year old and is nearly a 10 hour flight.

Btw yes you can take your own food, but you have to still comply with the hand luggage liquid rules.

There may be something on this in the mumsnet forums.

Have you ordered a child's meal? You will have to order these in advance (min 24hrs before, preferably more) as children's meals aren't "allocated" automatically. If you have booked your flight through a travel agent, there is a big chance that the travel agent hasn't passed on the message about a child meal (happens all the time). If you've booked with BA directly, you can order the child meal through MMB (Manage My Booking).

I would recommend that you bring snacks and treats as well, as you don't want a grumpy child on your hands ;) Also, bring some toys (silent ones), colouring stuff, teddy etc. Bring them out one at a time throughout the flight as and when needed, then your child will have some surprises.

Don't forget the Calpol, just in case ;)
  • Sergeant major bob the saver.............or just someone who doesn't have kids! Bet your one of them that tuts and huffs if a child dares to speak.

Thanks to everyone else for your most helpful comments, I appreciate them.
