Have I done the right thing accepting this offer?
I've been on a three contract for 9 months using a nokia 6280 costing £30 a month for the VTT 1000. However a few days ago I bought myself a new nokia n95 on a 12month Tmobile flext 35 + WnW for £65 and gave my nokia 6280 to my sister.
She really wanted the LG shine which I've seen on onecomparefor free on a 12 month contract with up to 350 mins and 200 txts for £25 with £120 cashback. Not really keen on cashback deals as i always forget to send them off and therefore don't want to pay more than £30 a month.
So I phoned 3, who told me that I wasn't due an upgrade for 2 months (ie month 11). So I told a white lie and said Phones4U had said they would buy out my contract and give me the above deal (without the cashback) and I was wondering if they could offer me something similar. After a few errrms the telephone assistant offered me a free LG phone with a flext allowance of 400 txts and 700mins for £26.50 a month (which is a reduction in line rental of 25%). HOWEVER he said it was an 18 month contract which wouldn't begin until the 12th month of my current contract. So I get the new phone straight away and carry on paying £30 until my contract finishes in three months. Then I get a 25% reduction in line rental. So the total contract is 21 months long
My question is was it a good idea to accept / is it a good deal? The phone was sent out today but I still have 14 days to reconsider the contract.
I've calculated with whats owed for the next three months of the contract and with the reduction in line rental it works out the same price as getting the LG shine (phone costs £100) on the VTT500 which is £25 a month for 18 month.
Any comments would be appreciated. Sorry to write so much!

Hi Rasper55,
Read this thread someone posted today about what they've been offered to stay by Three - your deal doesn't sound so good in comparison to that although you are getting a phone which he's not and you're getting more minutes and texts but still you're paying nigh on £500 for the 18 month contract and that seems steep when three are offering deals like that to existing customers. I think you could get a better deal if you don't take the phone and then perhaps just buy the phone separately
Regards
