Be Unlimited Debt

Be Unlimited Debt

About two years ago my Be Unlimited contract ended and I went to an different ISP.

I thought I have paid all the bill I owe and thought nothing about it.

Yesterday I had a Formal Demand letter from Buchana Clark & Wells saying I owe £24.74.

First I went to there web site and tried to setup a Pay a settlement figure of £12.37 and got a message back saying: We are currently unable to offer a settlement on this account. I even tried Set up a Payment plan but back with the same message.

I have sent them an e-mail to find out why I can not setup an Pay a settlement figure or a Set up a Payment plan for this debt and also said in the e-mail: I also like to know why it taken BE Unlimited over a year to sent me a letter about a Formal Demand? Why wait all that time for payment?

    Have you changed address?
I suggest you check your credit report, as the debt has been sold on to the DCA.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • I don't fully get by what you mean '
    a Payment plan
    ?

I'm guessing, as it is such a small amount - that you want to pay it in full and get it done with? Could you not just post them a cheque for the £24.74 to the address on a letter or give them a call?

I believe that they have six (6) years to chase for debt owed.
Thank you all for helping me make my day by saving money!

    bcw wont of bought it
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

I have not change my address, I been living here for over 20 years.

I left Be this month for Plusnet, and Be tried to charge me for some random amount on my last bill (£43), although I don't owe them anything. They can't even explain what that amount is or the breakdown of it.

Very poor from them... They used to be good, but rubbish now.

If you didn't use a MAC to migrate, this could be the standard £25 cease charge levied by BT OR and passed on by your ISP.

I assume they won't settle for less or set up a payment plane because it's pittance. £24.74 can be paid off in one hit.

The £43 they tried to charge me had no specific purpose.

I think they are just trying to charge people random numbers when they leave...

Well I wouldn't pay some company I never heard of just because they told me to.

Write to them and tell them they have to prove you owe this money before you will consider paying.

    Could easily be a scam.
