The machines used to dole out as much as 40 litres of screenwash. We worked this out at work and used to pop along with 25 litre containers.

At my local Tesco the air pump is 20p, the long hose that reaches your water bottle is £1 for pre-mixed screen wash and next to that is a tap for free water. I am 100% confident that they are all like this and the OP didn't look correctly. Simples.

No, two outlets one for the air and one for the water, could be the screenwash comes out at the same time as the water at this station.

This is being forced on you though, it should have a free water source.

I always go to Asda now. Everywhere round here charges 50p for the air machine. Asda charge 20p.

    Water is also free :)

Ive only used air once at Sainsburys and it was free, not sure about the water though.
  • Air and water are both free at the local Texaco :D

Why should it be free. they have to pay for the pump and upkeep etc.I am not sticking up for Ts as I hate them just curious why a retailer should offer you something for nothing

Like you I wouldnt pay for it although it does have screen wash in it.

I keep a spare bottle readymixed in my car this time of year.

I tend to buy neat screenwash in the summer when it's cheaper or with BOGOF offers.
Mix it myself so that I can vary the strength if temperatures are below freezing (no fun your screen wash freezing on the screen at -14C on the M6).
I also add a dash of washing up liquid or Stardrops to help with oil and grease clearance

Well i suppose i should say, it is in there favour to give it for free as i did not use any of the service station facilities so they lose money, which they love considering they must overcharge to make billions in profit.

Went into Tesco service station tonight to fill up my screenwash bottle with water, they want £1 to use!!!

That is a disgrace, it should be free.

And how do you think Tesco became the multi million pound conglomerate it is?
