Bought £75.00 trainers from House of Fraser early January, now coming apart!

To cut a long story short:
- Bought a pair of Dune trainers from the House of Fraser website during the first week of January 2013 (not a sale item)
-Worn for little over a month, well looked after
- Lining inside right shoe has completely come away/ripped apart
Surely a pair of £75 trainers should last longer than one month of use (not even worn in the rain)?
What are my rights, if any?

Take them back ASAP and ask for a refund as they are faulty.
Dune are a 'fashion' brand so I would have said they are trainers 'for show' rather than for proper use like a brand such as Nike. But a month is still a poor length of time for a pair of fashion shoes to last. I wouldn't have thought you would have any problem getting a refund but having a receipt would help to prove the date of purchase and the small period of time that has passed since buying them.0 -
Thank you, I just wanted to know where I stand before I return them. Yes I do realise they are a "fashion" shoe and are not expected to be as hardwearing as other trainers, but I haven't even worn them everyday nor in wet weather. Will email House of Fraser and return to one of the stores when I'm in the city centre.0

House of Fraser are not sports direct. They are an expensive store with exceptional customer service. You'll have no problems obtaining a refundThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Have always found Dune poor quality for formal shoes0

Email Dune not House of Fraser, they'll just pass you onto Dune.
It's a concession and it'll be Dune who you'll be dealing with but there won't be any issues0 -
Unless it is a long way away, just physically take them back to House of Fraser. A customer saying a store is selling rubbish in ear shot of other potential customers tends to have a much more compelling effect than an email going into a contact centre somewhere0

A couple of queries:
Do you undo the laces, or do you just drag them on and off?
Are they the correct size for you?
Notwithstanding the above, HoF will undoubtedly refund, as, like someone else said, they have good customer service and are not Sports Direct!British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
They are though entitled to repair or replace0
