I have bought some din removal tools but I still can't get the damn thing out.
theres a rubber bung i the back of the unit to minimise vibration of the unit in the dash and to give it stability and some shock prevention, they are a pain but persevere, how long are you din pins? if only about 2-3 inches long it wont reach the second load of clips in the rear of the unit there other special din pins that are much longer for double din removal.
have you got any thin long screw drivers or thing long alan keys the shove in the holes.0 -
it took a while but it is finally out, Apples, you were right, one side was slightly easier and once it had "clicked" I could carefully fiddle with the other.
I had hoped to find some loose or unconnected wires but they were all plugged in securely.
I didn't want to unplug everything and investigate further as I don't have a code for it, not that it ever comes up with "code" when I turn it on, but I don't want to chance at this stage.0 -
I don't think the original Saab fitment has a code, it is "married" to the car when first installed.
I've disconnected the battery on my 9-5 loads of times but never been asked for a code afterwards.Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0
