'Drive like a girl' car insurance...anyone had any dealings with these people

Just wondering if anyone has had any dealings with this insurer?

Have used all the price comparison sites & gone direct to insurers and 'Drive like a girl' are coming up at least £150 cheaper than all others.

They install a telebox in your car free of charge and will lower the premium 3 months into the policy if you are deemed to be a 'good driver' if not your price stays the same and no increases.

I'm a bit reluctant to go with this company without any reviews/feedback from customers.

So hoping someone has experience/or knows of any customers or can even offer some advice regarding these teleboxes.

I'm 25, female with 5 years no claims discount, driving an 02 plate peugeot.

  • It is a rebranding exercise for Insure The Box and if you look into that brand you will probably find some feedback.

As everybody speeds most of the time, unless you are prepared to take the risk of driving bang on the speed limits or lower and it is a huge risk as you will be put in serious danger by contrast overtaking manoeuvres by angry road rage drivers, then dont bother.

  • Thank you InsideInsurance I will take a look at those reviews and see what I think :-)

The thing with the insurance is that they do not charge you more for being a 'bad driver' your insurance premium just stays the same, the only benefit to the box is that if you drive well for the first 3 months your premium will be lowered, if you are deemed to be 'bad' you do not loose anything.

I also checked what my potential discount would be in the first 3 months and it's £30 - so neither here nor there, if I do drive 'badly' i'll only miss out on £30 - it's just the fact that for me this is the cheapest insurance quote by far :)

Thats the only benefit to you..... to the company with their box in your car constantly collecting and sharing data there is plenty of other benefits ;)

At least the telebox is providing the OP with a benefit. When I renewed this week the I was I amused to discover that my cheapest quote with a monitoring box installed in the car was 4 times more expensive than the cheapest quote without one! :p

You have to get any credit out of them which if judged by Insure the Box is not easy

Not flexible enough for most people. If your circumstances wont change over the term of the policy then you maybe OK.

But cover too many miles and they know exactly how many you have driven because of the box then you may find it costly.

You brake hard to avoid something and they say sorry your a bad driver. No discount.

It came out cheap for me the 1st year they started appearing on the comparison websites but not worth the saving.

Need more miles then you had to buy them in blocks etc. Who determines if your driving is upto standard or not?

What does "Drive like a girl" mean? As we all realise now, there is no difference in driving ability or accident rate between males and females, and it is illegal to base insurance on the presumption that there is one.
