Hi all, hope ur all having a spend free weekend in the snow!
Updated spreadsheets this morning and all seems to be running tickety boo!
Have found a new obsession to stop me spending....cleaning! Not very exciting I know but quite therapeutic! But some would say tidy house=tidy mind? Not sure about that but it's free and better for the dmp than shopping!

Hi Mossop, I could do with some help with the cleaning, fancy having a go at my mess? Good on you for not spending and keeping up with the spreadsheets, which reminds me I have to do mine too. I think I officially hate snow now:(DMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421

Cleaning sounds good! Anything that makes you feel in control and not worrying about debt I say:)

Agree snow is boring now - and tiresome.
Thanks for the positive thoughts but they don't seem to be working. I wonder why?
I like my spreadsheets too:DDMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421

I sent my new budget off to SC earlier this week now and got a reply from them saying that I hadn't budgeted enough for food and clothing. The thing is though that we don't spend much on these area's and if we did put the budget up on these two items then we would have to reduce the amount we pay to SC each month. So we have stuck with it and just waiting for their response.
We want to pay off the debts and if we reduced the amount we pay this will just take longer - do the stalwarts of this thread think this is the right way to go?Debts as of June 2012 - £68,986.35Now £27,470.20 :T57% of debts cleared:beer:0 -

Personally I'd save it up for emergencies or for if some creditors start to apply interest later. That said it's your debt and your DMP. No absolute rights, you have to do what you feel comfortable with.

Personally i would increase the limits and as previously said put it into emergency fund, theres no credit to fall back on in a dmp so emergency funds are vital.
As tempting as it is to throw every penny to the debts it has to be viable for the length of the dmp. I didnt budget for as much as i could have and i do regret that because our emergency fund isnt geowing very much at all and i fret about things like car repairs or boiler breakdowns!
Its just my opinion

Hi all,
I agree With HH Bertman. if you could save up alongside do it. It's your DMP, if you can realistically manage on the budget you have set without going over, then go for it.
I have had a root filling today, so haven't done my normal Saturday clean which is a religion for us. But hubby and ds3 have which is fab:D all I've done is snooze on the sofa:T but I needed it, still feel ropey, I'm another saddo who enjoyed cleaning usually. I can't settle to do anything productive unless my house is clean and tidy, otherwise it stresses me out.
Off to update my Spreadsheet or I shall be thrown out of the geek club as well.

My understanding and from experience with Barclaycard, the more you pay and the nearer to the amount you would pay them if not on a DMP, then interest goes higher. So I would save the money towards F&Fs or that rainy day. PPOV I paid BC less this month by £120 and they only charged me £51 interest, last month they charged me over £70. So this month I have £120 + £19 to put towards F&Fs or a rainy day. If I wasn't being charged interest then I would pay it all to the debt, to clear it quicker. But we all do what seems best for us, there is no right or wrong way. Good luck.Paddle No 21 :wave:0
