Only if the job is in the financial sector or emergency services, or a post that requires a tougher background check, if your stacking shelves in Morrison's you'll be ok ;) !!

Oh ok, u usually work in payroll, would it be a automatic no if I had a CCJ

I have to be honest, I'm not too sure. As said if it's in a purely financially based company it might become a problem but it's a case of 'don't ask don't tell' - if they don't ask you, you don't tell them.

I think it'll be ok as you'd likely be dealing with automated systems for payroll and there's little chance of you embezzling funds without them noticing straight away. All I can say is, if it happens and you're asked in an interview, be honest with them. Most companies understand unless you'd be in a position where a personal CCJ would affect your professional career.

We had a number of letters from Barclaycard last week, these were copies were of letters sent to SC. A lot of legal speak so it took a strong coffee and a few reads of the letters to see what they actually meant.

On first impression they say that they have allowed the maximum amount of lower payments to "our mutual client" - which they mean us! But further down they say that they will continue to offer reduced DMP payments as long as we don't miss any payments. One interesting fact is that they say they will only default if we miss payments to any of the accounts, they will also continue to remove interest as long as we don't miss any payments.

I will check with SC on Tuesday (I guess they aren't in due to the bank holiday tomorrow), but it looks like they aren't planning anything just setting out their stall. It could have been said in a lot fewer words but that's the way of the world I guess!
    Debts as of June 2012 - £68,986.35
    Now £27,470.20 :T

Quick Sunday Morning update from me...

New SC Statement in and I'm now in the 56k's..:T with 5.8% paid off.... Now just got to get rid of the other 94.2%.... :D

Bearing in mind I started this journey in November but obviously the debt rose whilst the setting up was taking place, I'm really pleased to be getting far away from the £60062 where I started from....

My family loan which I don't include in any of my figures as its not part of the dmp is also now down by £2000... :D

    I shall just keep plodding...

    Happy Bank Holiday Weekend everyone..

    Good news Puzz.

Feels like yesterday I hit the 5% barrier. Was really significant as it's when I properly started to see there would be light at the end of the tunnel and was going forwards :)

  • Nice simple weekend off work for me, mainly been engrossed in sports - fuming that QPR can wildly overspend and still make it to the prem (then again as a Pompey fan I hate what Redknapp did to us and the fact he's gotten away with it scott-free is a disgrace), feel sorry for Atletico losing the Champions' League the way they did against Real, and currently listening to the League 1 playoff final.

Not much else to report, really!

I work in payroll & finance, I've not had issues with CCJ and work.

An employer will usually state in their advert if they intend to run a credit reference on candidates, it's quite rare.
