I work in payroll & finance, I've not had issues with CCJ and work.

An employer will usually state in their advert if they intend to run a credit reference on candidates, it's quite rare.

oh that's good to know, im not so worried about my credit rating just the finance job prospects if I get a ccj

got a interview Tuesday god I hope I get it.

Well, I have not posted in a long while.....life, one small boy etc. Progress on the DMP is coming 2 years earlier than expected, July 2015 and freedom. The next challenge is getting a new house and mortgage...........generally what are blocks post DMP on securing a mortgage, any general would be appreciated :j

    Hi

    Congratulations on finishing earlier.

Have you checked your credit files? APs? Defaults?

Morning HH. Oooh so close now, I'm going a bit green with envy:D

I've had a bit of a set back with my DMP. I spoke to SC about the ongoing problems with the car. It's 7 years old and has done a lot of miles so everything is wearing out and the MOT is due next month. SC said they wouldn't want to do a reduced payment again, saying that the plan could potentially be cancelled if too many payments are reduced. So they have recommended we reduce our overall monthly payment and have more in our emergency fund. I'm not very happy about it but it is the sensible thing to do I suppose, and it will reduce my stress levels! It has however extended the time until the DMP finishes by another 3 months:(

Sorry to hear about the car GUO. Ive had to extend my DMP a few times, I was originally going to be finished in 41 months but I was miserable and not able to cope on the allowances. Debt busting is important but its not the only thing in our lives. Hope that car gets sorted :)

    Morning all :)

HH, I'm so jealous... 4 short months left so you'll have a debt free Christmas!!! Huzzah!!!

GUO, sorry to hear about the DMP extension but why not think of it as savings towards becoming debt free as well as an emergency fund? You never know, you might find yourself with enough saved to repay your outstanding debts (or do F&F's) before you need to pay out in an emergency :)

If you think that every £100 in an emergency fund is comparable to being £150 of debt in an F&F then it sounds great doesn't it? :) Obviously emergency fund first but I only see good things coming from this...
