Well my 2nd round of payments go to the creditors this week. Just taking stock and all bar 2 are at 0% now, Wife's Barclaycard is 0.5% pm and my Opus is 1% pm. Will give them another month as it's new and then start the letters to get them cut. Bizarrely we have 2 Barclaycards and mine is double the wife's but that one is 0%, so I think they make it up as they go along. But at the end of the day we've reduced the monthly interest from £850 to about £30 so can live with that :D

Oh yes, 28 days has passed with Tesco and the default is official !! So our biggest debt will always remain 0% now :T
  • Oh for the love of...

Tax Credits letter: yes they are paying the new increased rate BUT despite the looooong conversation with the advisor who assured me she had updated everything it's STILL wrong! They have DD1 as leaving education at 16 and have reduced payments accordingly. They also have said in the letter that I need to renew still which I was under the impression I did during the call last Monday!

And now work are chipping in. When I was off last year after the initial break I was working from home after a couple of weeks (due to pressure from my manager) however, she didn't update HR and had me "officially" on sick leave. I have been told I have 3 weeks to return to work or I'll go onto half pay. Fortunately I kept records of the hours worked last year (that manager is now on maternity leave) but it appears that despite promises she never updated HR. The letter seems mostly concerned with pension contributions continuing. I possibly can return in 3 weeks if my recovery goes according to plan but this obviously needs sorting out or any sickness absence will be on reduced pay and TBH my salary is crap for what they expect from the role!

I'm so mad right now! Should have extended my weekend :(

I see a bit of a fight coming...if I can ever actually get through to them!

Great news! Give Barclaycard hell! Would it be possible to point out how much longer you'll be repaying because of this £30?

Thanks for all the advice so far.

Bit of an update, gritted my teeth today and spoke to hr and manager, hr referred me to pay plan who adviced an iva (thanks TTFTM)

This will have no impact on my work and will done before i reach retirement, it was a lot to take in over the phone, could someone point me in the direction as to what the difference is between this and a dmp and what the disadvantage is.

    Thanks

    Hi all,

Yes, the SC site also explains the difference between the two.

Well, things moving a bit faster than I planned - stressing over weekend and accidentally paid self employed DH monthly HMRC tax twice - i was so worried I hadn't paid i just paid it on 11th i paid it again doh! is a priority as on a knife edge with them now - guess June is now paid but could have done with that cash now!

Received paperwork from new bank Nwide so need to go in with ID to finalise and set up asap hopefully before credit rating too marked - found out this morning BT cut us off - so not the old me I left bill too late - paid that too, then M&S phoned tonight - why no payment on cc! As i've always paid on time this is all a bit strange - but feel I have it under control at moment - lady at M&S was so kind and understanding - I said had made token payment and sent recorded delivery letter she was happy with that. just trying to keep up until DMP set up.

Good job I'm keeping upbeat DH feeling really stressed. I explained everything to DSs 12 and 15 - so they are understanding of situation and won't be freaked out by phone calls or possible eventual callers:) they are being so grown up about it.

Also just trying to make colourful signature using i-pad with no luck - do I have to use a pc does anyone know? Also is it good etiquette to say thank you to every post I read - I don't want to appear rude:)

I like the idea of a s*d it weekend. I have this bank holiday weekend booked off work after I did the last 2, and my budget's reigned back in under control so I might be cheeky and raid the bargain bin at my newsagents for a few cans of giggle juice...

Letters from NatWest (spit) and capital one received. The former noting I hadn't made payment to my CC and the latter saying the same. Wrote letters to both stating DMP details (had to hand write then as my printer's run out of ink - typical! Ah well, they'll have fun reading my drunk spider writing) and forwarded all documents to DMP as well, with photocopies stashed away.

Not such good news on the laptop front - turns out I can't solder :( drove around for 5 hours last Thursday to see if somewhere could do it, no-one was interested except for one gammy looking shop in a not too pleasant place and he wanted £70 to do it, the old me would have coughed up just to get it done, but I took it home and gave it a go.... Big mistake! The motherboards now a bit.... Melty.

So new laptop for me then, and the bargain hunting begins - thankfully my birthday's in June and my parents have offered to chip in for a new one, so at least I won't be paying full whack!!!

Morning all my fellow DMPers :)

So today I was able to view my payslip for my take home at the end of this month and as expected I'm down by just a touch over £400 booooooo!!! :(

But, it could be worse and I've just had a look at the Budget review section of my DMP on the Step Change site and after a bit of re-jigging I can afford to pay £200 pcm which is better than I thought :) I've clawed back £100 since I'm not having to clean suits and have business lunches and the like (even though my transport costs have gone up since I can only travel distances by taxi).

I'm a tiny bit concerned that I'll get a few sniffy calls and letters but pah, let 'em LOL

It does however mean that my debt free date is going to slip a little but I have plans to play catch up anyway :)

That's all from me today (for the moment) let the games commence!!!

:rotfl: giggle juice! We call it "mummy juice" here ;)

So sorry your laptop has gone to the big computer workshop in the sky but look how MSE you're being to acquire the replacement :T Any chance you can sell what is left of it for parts on ebay to reduce the cost? People really will buy ANYTHING

I second chucking it on Ebay :) listed as faulty you'll still probably get maybe £20-30 I reckon :)

Better yet, if you check out the Argos Ebay shop they often have really good deals on reconditioned laptops and they come with a 1 year guarantee and free delivery :)
