Thanks Kate. Think I will just have to make sure there is no money in the account for them to take!!

Good luck with the Tax Credits, hopefully you can get something sorted. They seem to be taking quite a lot of money back :-(

Hope getting your stitches out went ok.

Hey Kate I'm almost positive they will lower the amount they are taking off, they accepted repayment of £5 a month from me without much hesitation so I'm sure they will work with you! Good luck and let us know how you get on xx
  • I need to make token payments to my creditors over this weekend - how much do you reckon I should give them? I could do with it being tiny, but I don't know what I can get away with!

    Hi
Was just wondering if I could get a bit of advice. I have just applied for my dmp pack from sc.

I am a little worried as my largest debt is my hbos overdraft, it says to open a different current account, i have a Nationwide ac with a small overdraft of £100 which i have not included in the dmp, i also have another hbos current account with no overdraft would i be able to use either of these.
Also i also work for hbos and am worried that this may effect my job and that they will inform my branch manager?
    Any advice greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Thanks Amy, the worst they can do is say no and I'm no worse off.

Haven't been able to call them, removal of stitches was BAD :( God knows why it hurt so much but I very nearly threw up. With the added stress of the tax credits I had a bit of a meltdown. I still don't know why it broke and I've been constantly fobbed off by medical staff. Whilst I had debt before the break it's got considerably worse and earning has been limited. GP has now added tramadol to my prescription list and I have a zombie all afternoon, didn't think it was wise to call when I'm virtually seeing dragons in the curtains!

On a happier note Capital One have accepted the DMP and defaulted me :) No specifics in the letter so I don't know about interest yet but it's a positive. Never thought I'd be happy about getting a default (and especially not a second one!) but the sooner they all do it the better.

Hope you have all had a good day,

£1 each is fine. It's all about showing willing, rather than the actual payment.

    Hi SIRENS and welcome :hello:

The usual rule is no bank account where you have any debt and all debts must go into the DMP. However I am not sure if this applies when you work for one of your creditors.

Did you mention this to Stepchange? if not, I think you need to give them a call on Monday and get some specific advice.

    Hi all,

I'm just about to start a dmp with stepchange and i'd like to know what to expect with regards to my creditors and how they will likely react in terms of accepting the plan etc.

    My creditors are:
    Lloyds loan:£6100
    lloyds overdraft:£3000
    santander loan:£450
    ladder loan:£3700
    moneyway loan:£15000
    capital one card:£1500
    very catalog:£900
    wonga:£760
    quick quid:£360

Just a bit of extra information: I have a long history of borrowing especially payday loans. I was taking out new ones to pay off ones i had every month. My moneyway loan is only 2 weeks old and i had to use that to pay back a few payday loans and family. I finally decided 4 days ago after doing research that a dmp would be the only solution for me. I'm in the process of changing my bank as i bank with lloyds. I've been accepted for barclaycard and nationwide and would like to know if either of them are associated with my list of creditors. So if anyone can help with that then i would be grateful but I would appreciate any knowledge or advice. Specific advice as to peoples experiences with my creditors would be great especially with moneyway as i haven't even made the first payment yet.
I will be paying £468 a month and will hopefully be debt free sometime in 2019.
