My OH spoke to Lloyds today as asking them to daufault her overdraft. They said it already had been, and to ignor all the Lloyds letters saying she will be defaulted!
Next she phoned a different Lloyds Number to talk about our joint account and they said they will default that too. :T
Just need them to agree to my account, OH's credit card and the BIG loan now!
Does anyone know how we can find out what the current balance is on the account that has been defaulted and moved to the Debt Recovery Dept?LBM - July 2012

If you don't want to phone them (more trouble that it's worth with LTSB IMO) you could get your credit report from Noddle.
I think I'll try getting a report from Noddle in a few months to check balances. I did have the Experian credit expert membership and my balances for defaulted accounts were updated on there (now cancelled - I am learning, honest)Allypops

I can still access both my Lloyds TSB accounts online and see an up to date balance. I am expecting to lose this access with the default but if the interest is stopped as per their promise, I know to the penny exactly where we are from our spreadsheets and will continue to update these with every payment.LBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Hello All
Congratulations to those that have all had successes today and good luck to those that are still battling away at their creditors to get a good deal. I am sure the banks have their own completely illogical way of dealing with customers.
Currently I only have 3 on the go at the moment although I am sure more will get added as soon as the house is sorted out. I notice Lloyds are the most money-grabbing wanting the biggest share of the pot even though theirs is the lowest balance. Despite a few moans about Barclaycard they seem to be the most helpful and have already stopped the interest. Not sure what my own former bank are up to as they just seem to keep taking the amount as usual and then adding it back into the account again, I am sure all will be revealed to me at some point!
I can only echo a number of sentiments here, that with everyone's help and support I am sure we can all sort out any problem that is thrown at us.

PS- God News! My 13 years old WW Polo has passed its MOT, I'm well happy- I was having nightmares about expansive repair costs. Just goes to show you- it not always as bad as you imagine it. I hope the same will go with dealing with our preditors- here is hoping!!!"NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS FREE FOOD"

Morning all,
Well done on the successes with LTSB TTFTM and back on budget. :j
It's a strange feeling for me at the moment. This is the first month on the DMP budget and we actually have enough money in the bank to pay the end of month priority bills, mortgage, utilities etc. it's so strange not having the usual monthly panic about what DD's to cancel so that things won't bounce or take us overdrawn. It's an amazing feeling.
Cocoloco great news about the car:j
I echo what others have said, probably would never have had the guts to go down this route without the support on here. I'm not exaggerating when I say, the difference has been life changing:)Started Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Ahhhh on the phone to HSBC, not getting very far!!!! Stepchange paid them £17.94 for my overdraft and I was charged 17.75 interest and 25.00 charges!!! They have just refunded the 25.00 this time as a goodwill gesture! But that means this month I have paid just 19p off my overdraft!! They are not very helpful at all! I am 281.24 over my limit and wondering if I should try and scrape together this money to lower these charges?? That is what the online advisor advised. What do you think? Any help greatly appreciated.DMP started Jan 2013.

According to DMP 'ettiquette' you aren't meant to clear it as it would be favouring one creditor over another. Wouldn't blame you for clearing it though. Horror stories suggest your DMP could be cancelled if you were found out but in reality that rarely happens.
Alternatively you have a very good case here to take to the FOS, it's only a phone call away. I'd call HSBC and ask them if that is their final response as you are going to take the issue to the FOS, you maight be suprised that can shake them to action zone 'reasonable'.
Let us know how you get on.
