But I have had about 20 calls a day, 20 texts and emails from them, and they won't listen when I say I am on a DMP, any other ideas what I can do? Currently have my phone on airplane mode to stop the calls coming to me as its driving me insane!!!!

I missed a payment with a payday loan company yesterday, I've received 23 phone calls to my mobile, at least one at work and god knows how many my poor parents have had to take. Speaking to them does stem the flow - I answered the call first thing yesterday morning, explained the situation and requested they don't contact me by phone, the only problem was that I couldn't give them my SC reference number, so the calls have started up with a vengeance again today! They did agree to remove my home and work phone numbers from their records, so long as I continued to take calls by mobile. We'll see!£11,673finally owning up to my problems, battling to defeat my depression and my debt before it swallows me whole.

You know you have a right to say only contact in writing?

No, I didn't, that's interesting. I've been feeling very harassed today, and it's only the first of 14 payments to decline
How long roughly does it take for the DMP to be set up from when you sign the contract?
I honestly don't know what I'd do without this forum, I used to think bankruptcy was the only option available to fools like me but I'd much rather pay what I owe. I just hope they help make that manageable.£11,673finally owning up to my problems, battling to defeat my depression and my debt before it swallows me whole.

If you read back a few pages I posted the OFT guidelines to give you 30 days breathing space. There's also the letter template to say only in writing and what to do about harassment.
It will get better. DMPs can be set up in minutes. creditors getting the message can take a few months. Dont dispair though. If you send that letter off (recorded delivery) and they contact you again just take their name and report them to the FOS.
They rely on you not knowing your rights. Rather than taking their calls you may be wiser to spend your time on here or on debtline site to learn about your rights etc

With all of our new members, I thought it was a good time to bring this one up and hope it provides some support when you need it. It certainly has done for me.
Great advice and definitely worth remembering TTFTM I may write this out and pin it to the notice board beside my computer.
I've had a birthday today so I'm late posting, but just wanted to say I've had two more responses from creditors. One from Tesco saying they have accepted the repayment plan and advising they will issue a default and a termination notice so that we don't accrue any further interest and charges:j
The second from Sygma, Asda CC to say they accept the repayment plan and have reduced the interest to 0.254% for 12 months
So that's three who have accepted, two who have frozen interest and one who has reduced it dramatically. Still waiting on the other 5 but am pleased with this as a start. Couldn't have wished for better news today:DStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Happy Birthday Julie. And thank you for sharing your post from Time to face the music. It has helped me to be able to put our troubles into perspective. I don't need to be afraid to talk to payplan on Monday. I have a call booked.
We have battled on for months thinking that if we didn't we would accrue more costs. Hopefully this way could give us a breather whilst paying what we can afford until DH is working again.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Hello all
Sorry to read about a few problems in the posts today, I guess that is something we all experience on the DMP journey and I do hope you all get them sorted out. Good luck also to those sorting out those people who we keep in employment with all the calls they make!
I'm beginning to wonder it my phone has stopped working as so far all has been quiet but it can only be a matter of days before they are onto me.
Happy birthday as well Julie, I hope you had a good day.
